These look pretty credible to me, maybe the wheels are a little tall but this looks great. They should re-release them with real riders.
Due to the recent budget cuts,
the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, plus the
current state of the economy, the light at the end
of the tunnel has been turned off.
I don't spend much time looking at the bottoms of my cars, so the wheels would be a priority, a metal chassis wouldn't even get noticed but it would make a wheel swap harder.

Lol, but it does make your diecast feel more expensive other than that it doesn't make a difference.

I dunno, most of my most expensive pieces have plastic bases, although that could be inflated by the fact most Kyosho/MiniGT/Tarmac/Inno or similar stuff tends to get priced similar to buying AW or GL stuff from sellers overseas, so when I get castings from the American-focused brands from resellers in the US it's sometimes a bit cheaper than Japanese-focused brands. As long as they're doing the wheels and other details like that on par with Kyosho or whoever, it's not that big of deal to me what the base is made out of, and credit where credit is due, AW has always been good in that regard and GL is getting better.

I like the weight when I have these things in the hand and turning and turning ............................................ and hopefully not dropping

Yes, I do know what you are talking about. I have kyosho Porsches and they cost me a small fortune.
