  • Go To Last Post

This function is not working as it should.
We have contacted Support, but so far they haven't been particularly helpful.
To get around this I have installed a Bottom button, (top right next to subscribe) which will take you somewhere in the proximity of the last post. It's only available on the thread pages.

    And for my next trick....
there is a jump to "▲Top" button in the footer of each post, next to the like button.

      Very nice, Skwerl. They work!

I noticed something else about page functioning; as threads get longer, there seem to be buttons appearing for "1, 2, 3..." etc. I would expect that. Thing is, they don't seem to do anything. The 1st page will show all the posts including the latest (I have threads with over 60 posts in them), and when you click a higher page # button, all the posts come up again just as before.

      "Sumpun' ain't right there, kid."

I know, Officer. I'm wondering if it is related to the problem Skwerl is having.

The pages work and don't work. Sometimes i can find myself on page 4 but scrolling up will eventually take me to the first post.
It would be nice if they worked properly i'm having troubles with long topics. I've been trying to find a solution but still looking.

Support seem to think clearing cookies and cache will fix the Go To Last Post issue. I have done this with no effect.

If anyone else is having a problem with it, could you please reply here and tell me what browser you are using. I have chrome, safari, and firefox and its the same on all of them for me.

Ive noticed the odd pagination thing too Guy. Is it happening on desktop and ios or only smaller screens?

The "Go to first new post" button works fine for me on Edge and mobile Safari. Didn't need to clear caches or anything like that. Usuaully when "support" tells you to clear cookies and caches, they don't actually have an answer and are just telling you something instead of "I have no idea".

First post works for me too, but the go to Last Post doesn't.
It does on support, which is also cloud based.

I use Chrome, and "go to last post" still takes me to the first post.

Right now I can't even get to the Garage on Firefox. I keep getting:

                  Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to www.diecastgarage.org. Peer reports incompatible or unsupported protocol version. (Error code: ssl_error_protocol_version_alert)
On Microsoft Edge, same results as on Chrome.

I collect what I like, and I like what I collect.

Happening for me also. On a desktop PC at work and at home. Chrome & Edge.

I'm using a laptop PC with Pale Moon (similar to Firefox). "Pagination", that's the word I was trying to think of.

I've just flicked a few switches and thumped on a couple of things in the engine room.

Go to User Settings (click on your name top right hand side)
                          Go to Account
Scroll down until you find the heading Conversation Detail Options, and under that is an option to select Posts per Page.

There should be options for 5,10,20, 30, 40. If you don't see all of these, clear your cookies and try again.

Pick your desired amount, save, and hopefully that will fix the pagination problem.

Sure. I've meant to change it for 3 years now but it just keeps going strong 😂
