I've long enjoyed diecast of Eastern European/Iron Curtain cars. This Welly GAZ-13 Chaika, aside from being a bit underscale with no highlighting of the grille mesh, came from a Greek eBay seller who stocks Welly 1/60. I'm really happy with it, hoping to get a 1/60 UAZ Hunter or Zastava 750 next from this seller.

That is so cool that Welly is doing this one in 1/60th scale. Years ago I had a 1/43rd version but sent it to another garage when I got rid of most of my 1/43rd scale models.

Welly is doing a lot of UAZ, GAZ, Lada, FSO, etc. lately. I hope to see Wartburgs, IFA F9s and maybe Barkas Framo vans added to go with the Trabants, and maybe older Skodas and newer Zastavas too

I have a tinplate Tatra Paris-Dakar Rally truck, a 1/43 Soviet diecast GAZ-24 Volga, a few 1/24 Yatming GAZ-21s and ZiMs that aren't in good shape anymore, a 1/43 Lada Niva, a 1/36 pullback 2000s-era Lada sedan, and a Pixar Cars Zaporozhetz.

"Pixar Cars Zaporozhetz".......I forgot about that one. I think I did buy one of those but it's packed away.

If you can deal with customizing and painting over "eyes", some of those Pixar cars can be OK 1/64 replicas. (case in point: My Fiat 500C Topolino)

The Chaika is a beautiful car. Welly and Technopark are doing a fine job in creating some Eastern European vehicles.
