So, the driver on the Jrs. CJ-5 is removable? I've been passing on many inexpensive ones, because the driver was beheaded, and since they were the same color as the seat, I figured they were molded as a part of it. While I believe my 1/1 was originally painted light blue, this particular version matches it almost exactly; and is period-correct with the 1/1 (although I believe a few years older, my 1/1 is a '69).
This is the later 1/35 version (ca. late 1970s; I think this one's from '80), based on the AMC-era CJ-5. I think this version was UK exclusive, and mine actually came from the UK. More or less, it ended up being an auction that ended at a buck or two; plus the $10 or so shipping from across the pond.

Welcome aboard Cody!
I guess I never paid much attention. I know around 1980 when they were doing some cartoon character cars, my jeep got repurposed to be driven by Yogi Bear. That makes sense if the driver is removeable, I vaguely recall seeing one with a driver but I'm not sure I have one, and don't recall seeing one sans head.
I think this one came along after the snafu at the other site wouldn't let me in, so I never got to show it off. This is the first Lotus by Corgi jr I recall ever seeing that was not the 007 submarine. Still has armored windows, which suggests to me a lingering 007 connection, but at least it has wheels and not flippers.👍 2Comment
