  • A New Year Wish

  • #2
Thank you, Steve and I wish you a Happy New Year as well. I hope you buy that camera I told you about, you will not be sorry. If you take pictures using the food setting with the Marco setting you will not be sorry. PM me and if you have questions. Laugh but my new year will be safe I quit driving at night years ago I can't distinguish depth at night. God Bless you, Brother!!!
Due to the recent budget cuts,
the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, plus the
current state of the economy, the light at the end
of the tunnel has been turned off.

Boy~OH~Boy, I sure hope everyone's New Year is starting off better than mine, and I hope this is not some sort of a sign... I let my dogs out at 6:00 am this morning and busted my rump as I stepped off the back door step. About 7:30 or so I somehow got my feet tangled in the sweeper cord walking down our hallway and busted the other side of my rump. Again about 9:00 am we went to Speedway for a gallon of milk and I somehow managed to shut my fingers in the car door. Once we got home I tripped again over a throw rug by our back door as I was walking in the house. I dropped the "PLASTIC" jug of milk on the ceramic tile floor and it exploded. Even up on the counter tops and all down the front of the stove. Still can't understand how a plastic jug could break open like that one did.
I think I will shut my phone off, lock the doors, pull all the shades, put my PJs back on and lock myself in my bedroom the rest of the day
              "IN MY BED"...
I will feel much safer there...
I'm probably gonna feel like one sorry, bruised, and sore sucka by tomorrow morning...LOL
              "An AWESOME New Year
              for ya~all !!!"

Maybe that means the worst of 2023 is now behind you, Steve!
The image file limits have been reset. Upper limits now are 100,000 when we have some images that exceed 5,000,000. I've set the pixels for no more than 1000 across the longest side, so if you resize to that all should be well. (The limits are larger than what I typically use, and my images turn out just fine, so I know it shouldn't be a problem)

                Thank you for your understanding.

Oh heck yeah Wes... That's exactly what my wife said. It gave me a little inspiration to get dressed again and run her to Wally World. On the way out I found another lucky 2022 new shiny penny laying on the ground, heads up. Then she said I told you so...LOL

I thought I had a bad day yesterday....thank you Stangfreak for proving me silly!

After all, with all my New Years' Negativity yesterday, I fixed my bicycle flat tire and my bike trailer's flat tire, and was able to ride a few miles in the "dead of winter" and do a significant grocery shopping trip. That's always been part of my intention in buying a BOB Trailer for my bicycles. Today is shaping up to be a freaking awesome, if chilly, bike riding day for January!

Forgot to mention there's a reason for it.....my real wheels (Ford Ranger) is in 'the shop' and they're so busy they won't be able to start work on it until NEXT WEEK! I now have more of an understanding what it's like to NOT have a car you can drive wherever whenever you want or need to. The truck was towed last Wednesday from my driveway. (The truck is 31 years old and the Ford dealership won't even touch it because of its age.)

Also, my skiing season pass becomes effective tomorrow but it's 30 miles to the ski area and there aren't any shuttles that take skiers up there any more. Can't ride my bike up there with skis and gear behind me....I'd never make it in two days...oh, and its also about 4500 feet of elevation between here and there....

                      Hang in there my friend...
You're 100% right about not having a car to jump into and go when ya need or want to. I had 3 cars setting here in my driveway and couldn't even get around the block. I'm tellin' ya, it about drove me crazier than I already am for awhile. The 2002 Jeep Cherokee, the 2001 Honda Odyssey, both needing water pumps that both went out a week or so apart. The new 2005 Ford Explorer that I just bought and broke down 3 days after I bought it. I felt so dang helpless and stranded. I sold the Jeep and put most of that money into the Explorer for new tires and an exhaust system, also misc. parts for the fixes I could do myself. Somehow, someway, I muscled up the energy, strength to get under the Explorer in 5 degree weather and replace the u-joints in it that broke loose. I had to go online to sort out some minor electrical problems by tracking down the fuse and relay boxes and what they control. I discovered this 2005 Explorer has sooooooo much computer controlled gadgets and even mechanical functions in the engine and transmission it scares me. A 2005 is the newest vehicle I have ever owned because of that fact. I hope I never have to own anything newer than this.
I think my dream vehicle would be a 2012 Shelby Mustang to tear all the drive train and computer controlled crap, censors, relays and all the unnecessary crap all ripped out of it and replaced with an entire and complete 1971 Boss 302 drive train in it. And door locks you lock yourself and windows you crank down by hand, and a heater with slide controls and much more from the older "REAL" rides...LOL

With a newer looking 2012 Mustang with 1971 guts in it, at least I would look more modern...LOL
