Nice pictures of that Duster! My first car was a ‘73 gold with a white vinyl roof although it had nowhere near the power of the 340, and instead was a 6 banger. The Mopar A bodies were really dependable and versatile cars for their time. Maybe one of the modern diecast companies can do the big bumpered Duster or Dart.
I think I have seen the Cars perform a couple of times during college back when they were still a relatively new band.

Wow! I'm shocked so many of us have met Ric Ocasek....I sat next to him at the bar in a small club near my Mom's house when Concrete Blonde was touring southern California decades and decades ago. Exchanged small talk and enjoyed the band's show. In fact, got to watch the band's second show that evening for free when the club's owner announced anyone wanting to stay for the second show (same band) could remain in the club. (Maybe they didn't sell out the second show?) He must have 'gotten around' in those heady days!

One thing about Ric was he was so tall and that hair you couldn't miss him anywhere. It is too bad about Orr he died of cancer and that is tragic.Due to the recent budget cuts,

Ric and I were two ships passing in the night. He spent his later years living in the county I grew up in, but I left as he was laying down roots. I never met him, but I have friends who have stories of seeing him around at stores and restaurants, or walking around the County Fair. There was no missing him, but all the stories go the same, that he was always gracious and friendly.
To me The Cars’ first album is their best from start-to-finish, with great individual tracks found on their later albums.
While I don’t have a pure Johnny Lightning Replica of the car on the album cover, I suppose i could swap the hoods on these two and have one that would be close (and another that would look ridiculous).
