One of the things I have learned in collecting the GL police cars is about the Postal Police - something I was not familiar with - so again, the educational benefits of our little toy car collecting.

THANKS for following along- and i certainly appreciate the feedback. don't tell anyone, but that factory in the USPS scene is actually a pepsi plant- top secret. i've been on a menards building binge lately, and they've been getting a lot of screen time.

anyway, let's not forget the feds, and a few more recent releases.

Another nice batch - the Adams County Unit takes me almost home as I spent much of my younger days just north of Adams County in Lincoln County - back in those days all of the county patrol cars in the State of Washington were a dark green with white doors and roof. Will have to do some digging as I know I have a picture of two of my dad's county mountie cars from the '70's.

I've got a whole bunch of those Menards buildings now- all O scale of course. so far ive only been using them for the temporary layouts- they make great back drops. sooner or later i'll probably try to make them look a little more 64 ish, but for now- they work OK

                            Boone County or Bust
Held back for a defect, this unit is fixed and finally ready to ship.

Hopefully, the deputy it's headed for will appreciate it even more now.

(Other than CHP, and maybe NYPD, i think boone county sheriff might be the agency with the most models- at least in my collection. other than the GL, MBX has done a few...)

                            CHP Chevy Caprice Classic
In 1988, The CHP is authorized to use RADAR to enforce speed in rural and unincorporated areas.

‚ÄčIn 1989, 9mm automatic pistols are issued for field evaluation.

                            Heavy Duty Trucks Series 18

This is marked as a '2019 Step Van' but there is no indication of what manufacturer this model is supposed to represent. Previous versions are marked '2019 Mail Delivery Vehicle'. - i did a little digging on this, and as far as i can tell, the USPS, UPS, blank and now the NYPD step van are based on the GM models, but not an "official" replica of an actual vehicle?

That new Boone County, MO ride is one sharp looking unit. Makes me want to go on a road trip to see the real ones! And I know Velma wouldn't mind as she is a Missouri native and always likes it when I take her home. : Think my collection is the same with CHP, NYPD and a whole host of Boone County rides.

I LOVE those Menards buildings! Of course, O scale is a little bigger but I'd rather have that than the HO scale ones that will be way too small. A shame that they retail for basically $100 CAD (not sure if they even ship to Canada either), or else I'd snap that up in an instant. Just what I need for a backdrop.

That's an interesting question since Greenlight usually doesn't do generic vehicles (sans their trailers). When I first saw it my mind went to the Grumman Olson step van but they never did (at least, to the best of my knowledge) a longer wheelbase variation. There are definitely GM hints to it too so maybe it's a hybrid of both to get around the licensing?
