  • The Hawaiian - Then and Now

This late model funny car was in the Target exclusive 4 pack I got while in Houston. Although not something I'd normally buy as a single, glad to have it nonetheless. I brought in some older release Johnny Lightning and Hot Wheels funny cars for a comparo shot.

I want that Mongoose that is killer!!!! Thanks for the pictures. John all these came in one set or you are making a set?
Due to the recent budget cuts,
the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, plus the
current state of the economy, the light at the end
of the tunnel has been turned off.

Thanks Daniel - these are just pulled from my funny car box. The new Charger came from the AutoWorld set on the right:

I used to have all these at different times long ago, except the AW one. Am I correct on trying to remember all the brands in your picture?

Yes sir! The front and center is a Hot Wheels (early Y2K era)- the one on the right is Hot Wheels Dragstrip Demons era, one on the left is a Johnny Lightning (mid 90's).

They are all extremely nice beauties John. They bring back many fond memories of seeing that car, of many different models race for so many years at the Spring Nationals at National Trail Raceway. Always one of my favorites...

Unfortunately, this one has the body pinned to the chassis and doesn't open.
