What was Hot Wheels thinking of with this one?
An all metal chassis and an entire plastic body!!!

Truthfully? I know the plastic body cars were pushed as "track stars" supposedly better balanced for use on the tracks, the lower center of gravity helping keep them on the track through the loops and such.

But I think most of us see it as an excuse to move to cheaper materials. Cost wise, what difference between plastic body / metal base, and metal body / plastic base? My guess is not much. Plastic can be cast in color, which saves paint. And plastic can be used to create more accurate body lines at scale, metal is fickle and would require additional machining to get some bodylines to cooperate...which is why some upscale makers now are using "resin," a fancy word for plastic.
The image file limits have been reset. Upper limits now are 100,000 when we have some images that exceed 5,000,000. I've set the pixels for no more than 1000 across the longest side, so if you resize to that all should be well. (The limits are larger than what I typically use, and my images turn out just fine, so I know it shouldn't be a problem)

    Thank you for your understanding.

Wes,i believe your observation is 100% right on.....this was a 1996 FE, the track aces series was issued in 2006.
