  • An Exciting RAOK from MrFutura

I really wanted a couple of the models in the Mercedes series, although the neat series never showed up around my parts, but then MrFutura said he didn't need those couple models I wanted and was sending them to me, needless to say I was really excited for the arrival of these two great Mercedes models....

But then he also sent a bonus surprise, and when they arrived earlier this week there was this awesome Chevy truck from the working parts series that I didn't even know existed as a Matchbox casting until reading about it here a couple weeks ago, included with the Mercedes'. I always loved these styles of trucks from the 60's.

Spectacular! The M-B 6 x 6 looks small next to the 'Mog. I have seen criticism here about the width of the 6 x 6. Nice anyway.

Next to the 'Mog? Heck, that 6X6 looks small next to a Matchbox Mini.

That deep blue Chevy looks very nice. Great RAOK all around.

Great RAOK models from McFutura - he is a great Garage member and has helped me with my collection a number of times. The Chevy pickup with opening hood is awesome - I was not aware of it and must have missed the post about it here at the Garage.

I don't believe I have that Chevy pickup yet....and it's a must for me since I had a '65 Chevy Pickup I owned from '75 'til the late 90s. Funny how that ol' truck looked old when I bought it in '75....now I drive a Ranger that still looks new since I bought it in '92! That old Chevy lived mostly on the east side of the Sierra, around 7,000 ft....must've been a hard life before I got it for $500.

It is nice, though I'm not really a stickler for scales, especially with the 3" toys, if I had one concern about that I'd say they should make the small stuff like Mini's and Beetles much tinier than 3" so they look more accurate with other 3" stuff, anyway, in appearance the 6x6 cab area reminds me of the G Wagon SUVs I occasionally see around town, which are pretty small looking, and since I'd never seen a real Mercedes 6x6 like this (and probably wont) I'm ok with imagining it's just a longer rendition of the G wagons I see around.
