  • Matchbox Mercury Police cars and Variations

This is another one of my favorites, Matchbox Mercury Police cars. There were also many variations madeπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Another great Die cast, and all metal from matchbox😊😊😊 Notice the different color lights and windowsπŸ‘πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ˜

I have always found it interesting that the first police cars from Matchbox were Ford's and Mercury's and not British cars. Granted I am glad they did as I am a big fan of these Ford and Mercury police cars. I am not familiar with the blue one "cylinder drive" in the second picture - do you know what it is from?

That blue police car was from a set back in the 80’s, early 90’s I believe. The same car also came with shiny laser wheels which I have but I can’t find it☹️ I know I have it somewhereπŸ€” Here I posted a picture of the actual set and the police car from googleπŸ‘

It would be great to have a custom, plain, glossy black one like Steve McGarrett in Hawaii Five-O.

Thank you for the info on the blue version - now that I see the blister card I do remember the series.

            You mean like that ?
In fact a very old custom. I think a friend of mine did.

This was always one of my favorite Matchbox police cars. I think it is because the white one from the 2 pack was the first Matchbox police car with a light bar instead of a beacon light.

I know there were probably other diecast with light bars but my house was a very strict Matchbox only house.

Here is the two pack that I have with the white police car and Blaze buster fire truck. The lights on the police car have a very light green tint to them. And I also have a single pack with no labels on the side, just the top of the car. It says 012 on the hood and Metro police traffic patrol on the trunk and engine hood😊

My two pack with the same police car with simple side labels came with the Merryweather instead, although it was a different pack number too, TP-2 versus your TP-9. My was from 1979, and I believe yours was more mid 70's, 76 or 77

I have a completely different question. I can not see all the pictures of Greco Roman, or they are so big that I only see a tiny corner of it. Only when I click several times on the pictures, a "normal" size appears. This is very unsatisfactory, I have the problem alone ???, does anyone know if I can fix it ??? or is it due to the image input from Greco Roman ??? and you see that too big?
I have the huge picture reproduction with nobody else and the pictures are often very interesting to me.
