  • The Amazing Beach Bomb

Wouldn't you all love to have this baby in your collection?
I can't even remember how many of these I wrecked with a hammer, or blew up with Black Cat fire crackers... What a distructive, "DUMMY" kid I was...

Not in pink (mainly due to the fact that 100 grand is a decent HOUSE in my neck of the woods!), but pretty much any one. I'm a fan of old VW vans, and this sucker looks to be quite heavy. I'm wanting a blue or green side-loader, since those seem to be the most common. I think there was a track performance problem with the rear-loaders, that's why they weren't made long.

Here's a video I found showing it. I also heard there was a track problem with it flying off the HW tracks too easy...

Here's another one I actually seen on TV long ago...

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – Antiques Roadshow reports, a man brought-in a vintage toy Hot Wheels car he received as a boy, from his dad. Turns out it's a 1969 Hot...

Had not seen the video about the red Beach Bomb. Pretty cool. Here is my original blue side loader. The others are Mattel's re-entry into the market circa 2002. These were known as "Beach Bomb Too."

I will try and find the safe place it is in - have been doing a lot of re-organizing and cleaning in our basement and a lot of cars and stuff are safely stored in boxes and just have to remember which box it is in.

There are two pink rear loader Beach Bombs known and Bruce Pascal uncovered them both from a Mattel employee. He sold one of them to Sidney Belzberg for a reported 72K,
the highest recorded number paid for a single Hot Wheels.

It wasnt that they fell off the tracks, it was because they were too narrow for the power chargers.
