Last grab of 2019 - Hot Wheels № 6276 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow. Even with a 50% off sale, it cost 20% more than the near-mint copy from November 2017 (see last three photos).
Whether its Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Dinky, etc. resisting a die-cast Silver Shadow can be a challenge. Is there a Shadowholics Anonymous or any other hope of recovery? Probably not at this stage. It's one of my favorite automobile designs of all thyme.
Picked up this play-worn example December 31, 2019 because it needed me (at least that's what it said).
Sure, the wheel spokes were almost completely black (but the red lines were intact), and the paint had lost some of its luster, but otherwise, it was complete, and it sat level and true (no weird camber angles that would require axle straightening).
Hope to find an affordable one in a Spectraflame hue some day (blue would contrast nicely with the 8 oz Grey Poupon jar). Until then, the grey enamel will have to do.
Note: All standard die-cast macro photography disclaimers apply, i.e. "it looks worse in the photos than on the shelf." TM

Is that a flexible hose, or did a mealworm get into the casting process somehow? Interesting that on Matchbox 24-C (R-R Silver Shadow) the trunk opens instead of the hood. Make no mistake, it's a spacious trunk.

Photos revealed some cracked tires.

Picked up this snazzy example (below) in November 2017 for 20% less than the play-worn one today.
