  • A postal heads up.

while at the post office yesterday i saw a notice that some time in August they will be releasing a set of muscle car stamps.

the one pictured on the notice is a charger...i asked for the notice on the wall but they said no.

Got to be a lot better than the Happy Birthday stamp.

There is a chance they might let you have it after the stamps are released. I will ask at my local post offices and if they say yes, I would be happy to send one your way!

I'm sure a lot of guys will want them, I'd almost prefer if they did some old 60's and 70's station wagons, or passenger vans from the era, or even campers or motorhomes, basically vehicles more people can relate to, of course I say this without purpose, because I don't buy stamps anyway, since the only things I mail get sent with postage labels at the post office.

I've kept a few stamps over the years, took some pics a little while back and this might be a good time to show, always thought it would make a nice mini series of diecast to match the stamps:

I know I have a couple others, just haven't laid eyes on them in some time (and not sure where I squirrelled these away...)

I've long thought the Kaiser Darrin and the Nash Healey would be daring choices.

Wes,that is a nice group of stamps.

since they keep saying service is bad because of an employee shortage.i dont think they would have some one standing at a machine to do the covers.

I asked one of my church members who is a stamp collector. She does not do first day covers but according to Lynn's Stamp News, First Day Covers can still be done.

The write up pointed to Sacramento. Usually the First Day covers come from one site only. You mail in the envelope you want mailed back with your return address on it, plus the fee for the postage and probably a little something, and that one site *only* for the one day only would print the First Day cover and mail it back to you. At least that's how it used to go, I never got around to doing so.

Found one of my other postal collections...this would be easier for some makers, they already have most of them, just the old International is not made (yet).
