  • ZA3 Collectibles question

Periodically, I use ZA3 collectibles for reference purposes for new or upcoming releases and doing research on older released castings.
Looking through the casting database; it appears that this site is nearing two years old on any additions to the individual casting listings.
This fact does not help my efforts in trying to find information on the series and specific releases for castings.
An example would be the 1968 - 1969 Chevelle or 1969 Mustang.
By using the database I can check on issues of a casting that I have or may be missing.

Does any one have any information on what is happening?
A great site that I love to use for general use and doing specific research.

And now that Wyatt has shut down his Greenlight site, we are very limited to the access to specific information on Greenlight castings.
It is really too bad that Greenlight parted ways with Wyatt.
That was not necessarily a good move on their part.

    Cheers. Cobra

I can't speak for the Chevelles or Mustangs, but ZA3 does update their photo database, although irregularly. They even announce it in the NEWS section when they update certain entries. Usually the subject line includes the word ADDED. The last one I see was a "MiJo Exclusive featuring the 2016 Nissan GTR (R35) STP Safety Car (#51146) as well as the past releases" (dated October 22, 2019).

Then it looks like there were several additions in September 2019 (that's as far back as I looked).

Have there been any recent releases of the Chevelles or Mustangs?
I collect what I like, and I like what I collect.

Michael, I am talking about most castings.
If you do some research on a lot of different castings you will see what I mean.
Example: look up various versions of the International trucks.
Or the Ford LTD (Country Squire) station wagons, Ford F350 Ramp Truck, or 1969 - 1972 Ford F100 truck.
Check out the HD Trucks section for example and also you will not find various series of SD Trucks featured at all.
These are only a few examples but hopefully you will understand what I am trying to state.
Tokyo Torque only goes to release 2 on the site and we are up to series 7 or possibly higher.

      Cheers. Cobra

ZA3 is a good resource for future product updates, but the database is spotty.

I've had a similar experience. Just yesterday I was trying to determine the year of a purple Dodge Charger that was released, but I couldn't find it in their photo database.

It would be nice if it were kept as updated as Wyatt's JL site, but it's a free service, so I'm not too torn up over it.

I understand what you're saying Cobra.

I must admit I don't check the database portion of ZA3 as much as I once did. These days I mostly check it just to see what's coming.

I took a look at a few lines and castings that I'm familiar with, and now I do see they are way behind on being up to date.

They do have a contact page. You could try asking them directly and see if they reply.

It looks like ZA3collectibles is down and off line now. I really hope they come back.

Oh... I don't like the looks of that. Still down today. I wonder what's going on...

Hoping some type of computer gremlin got into their system and they will be back soon rather than gone forever. I have certainly enjoyed using their resources over the years.

I just found out it's gone too. It is still down as of 8/7/2020 - it just says "END OF FILE ERROR" on the page. It looks like it was registered with a GoDaddy service. Maybe they stopped paying the bill, or gave up on it? A lot of diecast sites are going down that I used heavily to help ID castings and keep track.

za3 was my daily news source for Greenlight and I miss it greatly. I now refer to GL's flicker page periodically, which is an okay resource. I know Greenlight's own webpage was somewhat good at listing all the models in various releases, but I don't think there is a way to look up all variations of a specific model. For a while, Greenlight did a poor job updating their website, but now it seems to be more current. These companies rely so heavily on social media that ye olde fashioned website, which I prefer, doesn't seem to be a priority for many companies, not just GL.

Yeah, it's so stupid. I got banned from Facebook for using a fake name (who uses their real name on the internet?), and I cannot use Instagram without it wanting me to use the app and log in, and all these other sites are just so confusing and obtuse to navigate it's impossible to use it. I don't use social media either.

LOL, that's what I want to hear!!!! I hate social media, found it almost useless, but people convinced me against better judgement to use it. I can do without some of the posts from people I don't know telling me what they had for a snack at work and the bickering. Websites just give me the straight dope without the noise. -Signed, Grumpy Old Man!!!!!! (PS, GET OFF MY LAWN!!!)
