  • Hongwell Cararama 1/43rd? Emergency Garage

Got this probably 15 years ago from an online store that carried Schuco, Hongwell, and I think it was the same company I'd get Siku from, this was an item that was mistakenly pictured in the catalog as a 4 car set of 1/72nd fire vehicles, but when I received it instead in my larger order of items, I decided to just keep it since it was less than a $10 item, actually my memory is telling me $5.95 for the item back then, the price of the smaller scale set in the photo, and wouldn't have been worth the return shipping anyway.

Anyway, they are nicely done for the money, but I'm not sure of scale, so it's shown with a HWs in one of the photos for size comparison, I do like the included garage for the ambulance, police SUV, and fire engine. Sorry I don't have better photos of the models, these are old photos, and I don't know what box the set is in to take others. They are all Mercedes vehicles, and if I'm not mistaken I don't think the fire engine actually fits in the garage enough to close the garage doors.

Wondering if you ordered from the same place I used to as I remember getting a couple of those fire engines which had been listed as 1/64th and were larger - I am going to guess 1/50th or something like that. I finally sent them to a collector who collected all scales of fire engines.

If it's the place I'm remembering, they were called Ludico Toys, or it was possibly Yough's Diecast (or some name like that), they were the main places I'd order things from. With a brief investigation back then, it appeared they just put the wrong item number for the product I thought I was getting, on their website

Ok - not the same place I got my Hongwell models from but pretty sure I did a few orders with Yough's Diecast - got the majority of my Hongwell from a dealer in The Netherlands.
