My starting point for this was an online find, well preserved, 80s-era Majorette casting. As is usual for Majorette castings, it depicts a French-market vehicle (no US side marker lights cast in), and that added to the weirdness/obscurity appeal.

I drilled it out, added glass from a lesser condition white version, coated the sidemount spare tires in Testors contour putty to simulate vinyl or canvas covers to match the top, painted the interior and added a Greenlight 70s-era sport steering wheel from one of my junkyard cars to replace the cartoonish/toyish stock one, detailed all the lights, painted the top and interior, and polished the paint with an oiled polishing cloth. The top has been permanently glued on as well.
Wheels are Matchbox Premiere Mercedes C-class racing sedan items painted to look like "gangster whitewalls" on chrome McLean wire wheels.
