This *is* your (Great) Grandfather's Oldsmobile.
From when the real car was new on the roads, here is a genuine Tootsietoy from the era, now almost 100 years old. There are older Tootsies, but not many models, and considering how many were given up to the scrap drives of WWII it is a wonder sometimes how any of these old toys survived.
But this is the forerunner of all of the models you see on pegs and in online sales ads today.
