    New Ponies in the stable....

    Sorry I only took photos of the one most of interest to me, but the 'new' Matchbox Mustang (anniversary?) set is out at Walmart and it doesn't say "Walmart Exclusive", so maybe coming to other stores soon?

    I just picked up the coupe, convertible and SSP...the "mudstang" (now treated as if the giant tires and 'suspension' are not unusual for a "68 Ford Mustang"....) was present (there were at least 3 of them, just like the SSP, and though the design/deco was pretty subtle--good--with a skull on the hood, the 'monster truck' treatment isn't for me. The '68 GT CS and '65 GT were nowhere to be seen.

    I have to apologize for the lousy photos, shot in haste. I leave first thing in the am for California....long drive....just had to share what I found on my gasoline run this morning....and still have packing to do.

    Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and have a happy holiday season whatever flavor it be!

      Thanks, Look forward to finding that police cruiser, but sometimes these sets look good enough as a group for me to go ahead and get the whole set if all are there.

        Perfect picture to go with my morning coffee and doughnut - a Texas Trooper Patrol Car - definitely will need to get that one - and will see what else they have in this Mustang set (providing it shows up at one of my Wal Marts...or other stores). Have a safe and enjoyable trip Blair!

          I found this Mustang set at Wal Mart yesterday and 5 of the 6 of them came home with me. Here's the police car out of the package:

          The only one that didn't come home with me was the '18 convertible.

          One thing to notice is the numbering on the hang hook reads X/12 which indicates that there's six more to come, although I think it's only color variations of the first 6 if I remember correctly.

              The SSP is my must - have, but all do look pretty good (especially the CS). Thanks for the close-ups!

                    In case you are wondering, the 68 GT is a slightly different blue than the previous 9 pack exclusive. smaller metal flake makes it look a little darker. I wish they had gone with something more distinct. Great casting.

                      Might have to get the '66 as I like that shade of blue as well as the Texas patrol car.
