  • Husky/Corgi Jr. Studebaker Wagonaire Ambulance/Wagon/TV Car

The Studebaker Wagonaire was based on the Lark Station Wagon that was modified about the belt line and featured the unique sliding roof panel. I have always found it interesting that, Studebaker being a lesser brand in the US, both Husky and Matchbox would produce models of the Wagonaire wagon. I have these models listed in the database but thought more might see them here since there were some questions about this one in another thread.

Always something "new" to seek! As usual, I had no idea there were even that many variations on the Husky/Corgi Jr Studie ambulance...fun to learn about "new" things to get excited about.

United Press International actually used Studebaker Wagonaires for camera cars:

Thanks Mark - that is cool to see the larger model of the TV camera car as well as see it was actually used in that manner.

I had the yellow camera car as Corgi with metal base and thin wheels.

                      Very interesting and informative thread.

Can someone provide a photo of the gift set with the pale yellow model?

Those sets are sweet. Instant holy grail material!!
Bill Manzke notes the yellow Stude as unlisted variation in his corgi book.
So maybe it was simply a gift pack exclusive?

Most references I have seen for the yellow Studebaker is to the gift set so guessing it might well have been an exclusive to the set. Got mine from a PA collector who knew I liked Studebakers.
