i never knew the story behind these! i always loved them, even though they are a tad too small for me. i had a whole fleet out on on the mean 1:64 street at one time... but eventually they were replaced with the GL models. but the FDMB name still lives on!

I always wished that MB would do something simple like change the number of a rig when they re-release it for multiple years. I'd be chasing all kinds of number, haha, but it would be great if you could collect an entire fleet of rigs marked as different numbered engines and trucks.

Oh I didnโ€™t know that they had a license, and it fell through that really stinks. How awesome would it be if Matchbox could make multiple variations of the FDNY fleet๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ That would be insane๐Ÿ‘ I think they would do very well, and donate part of the proceeds to give back to the FDNY!!! I think that would be a win win situation for everyone๐Ÿค—

Its too bad (in my opinion) that the FDNY license fell through at the time they were making these models. That FDMB was so close to being released as an FDNY rig that they even made PreProduction models of it -

you can see that they simply ended up changing the department name/logo and left everything else the same -

they also made FDNY PrePros of the MB18 Extending Ladder, but I was never able to track that one down. She was a beauty though!

Matchbox Chevy Suburban Emergency Die cast

These are my Chevy suburban emergency trucks. They came out in 2000 and are extremely detailed. They came with a bunch of variations. These are realistic looking and a very nice die cast. The doors open on these๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š
