I was going to say it looks great in dark blue but sad to hear about the poor quality control on this one.

If it's any consolation, I just received a GreenLight brush truck that's missing paint on the gunwhales of the bed. Not a thrill-killer, but not the happiest discovery either. But it too replicates a truck that would likely have had a long, hard life fighting fires....so maybe a realistic, if accidental, issue.

Guess I'll visit Hobby Lobby today and see if this one is available. How many colors are there of the 65 and 66 'burbans, anyway? I thought I overdid it by buying two colors of each 65 and 66 models. Not sure if I can handle many more, but I still really like the casting, overall.

At this point, I’d be happy to just find one. The first green/white one is the only one I have so far - I think.

Two months later, I found the dark blue one, the one I was "missing" that I only knew existed because of this topic. Just found it at Walmart Saturday. So far, inside the blister, it seems pristine. I haven't opened any of the 5 I now have, so I don't know if the 'hidden' side (which is the righthand side) is in similar 'perfect' condition. And I never found a second of the all-red one (was that a version A or B?) which I hoped to customize into a "Fire Department" Rescue or Salvage truck.

Now I'm wondering, without an attempt to research, if AW has or will issue some without the 2 long side windows on each side, to make it a "panel" van, more suitable for that Rescue or Salvage vehicle. (I could take a stab at filling in those windows on a second red one--if I could find another--and 'craft' the panel van...but with too many models in kit form to build, making a special custom seems ahead of my plans...)

Oh, this blue one is Series 5, Version B, aka number "2", '66 Chevy Suburban. I couldn't locate the others yesterday and I can't remember which "series" those are from...but I have both A & B versions of each previous purchase.

I've had much better luck with Auto World than Greenlight recently from a quality perspective, but no one's batting 1.000 I suppose.

i guess we have arrived to point.where we have to do a super inspection before buying a piece.
