Looks great - neat to see this '55 Chevy Ambulance - as they say...mine is in the mail! Hoping we will see some other versions based on this one.

I picked one up a few months ago and I think it came out great!

An ESD is Emergency Services District which are political sub divisions in Texas that support and or operate emergency services in much of the suburban and rural areas. They tax for income, and provide money and equipment to emergency services is my understanding, almost like a Fire District but the money may support multiple fire depts. and ambulances.

Thank you Brian for providing that information on the ESD in Texas. Always neat to know that interesting background information that is a part of these little models that we collect.

I don't know how the ESDs in Texas relate to the US Forest Service's role in supporting wildland fire in Texas, but at least some rural fire districts field brush trucks lettered/signed by the Texas Forest Service that are funded by the US Forest Service, through the University system (Texas A&M). At least, that's how it was explained to me way back in the 90s when I had my one Texas fire assignment to support a regional fire outbreak around Denton/Decatur TX.

Nowadays it seems Texas Forest Service is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Texas A&M University, and is officially called the "Texas A&M Forest Service"....but it was officially founded in 1915.
