    Nova wagons ~ Newbies

    I found the light blue version awhile back. I picked up the white one yesterday, but haven't set it free yet. Both very nice looking castings...






    I had to have this white one. It reminded me of a baby sitter my mom had watch my sister and I way back then. I was about 9 years old and the baby sitter had just bought a brand new 1963 Nova wagon just like this one. The ugliest car I had ever seen with the red interior. She baby sit 6 of us kids at a time and took us all for ice cream. I got a cherry slushy and spilt it on her back seat. She hit the roof. After she wiped it up and it dried, I remember the ole' witch telling me I was (*&%#) lucky it didn't stain her back sea tor I wouldn't have sit down for a week. Believe me, "SHE MEANT IT". Thank the Lord for the red interior. I found it funny that was my first memory thought when I picked this car up off the shelf and noticed the red interior...LOL

      You should have told her that her seat would be next.

        I remember going with my dad to look at the '63 Nova's and other new Chevies at the Chevy dealer in the neighboring town. I know he was giving some thought to trading in his '55 210 Handyman Wagon but decided to leave the Nova at the dealership. Later he did pick up a used '60 Corvair for his work car and kept the '55 wagon as the family car. I wouldn't mind finding the blue Nova wagon one of these days.

          AW calls these "Muscle Wagons", ha, ha. That said, in 1963, I was 16 and got a job in a used car lot. We used to buy Nova wagons from the rental companies and they resold fast. With the 230 six, they were good cars. I have the new AWs at my house but I'm 200 miles away right now. New photos next week.

                Dan, I gotta go home as OC is going to get a Nor'easter starting tomorrow. Is your area going to be OK? My home is right on the projected snow line. There are some AWs, a GL 2021 Bronco and some old Dinkys waiting for me there.

                    One of the first cars I remember growing up was a twilight blue Nova sedan like the blue station wagon above.
                    Those sitters could be easily ticked off in those days. Ours was quite the disciplinarian and she forced us to go to bed while sun was still shining.

                      Oh oh.....were there photos posted above??? If so, I seem to have lost the ability to see any of them. I will check other bays here to see if it's true. Don't know what I'll do if I can't see pictures anywhere here....(I'm currently using my OLD computer....because I needed to update my backup of it in order to install the most up-to-date version of what's on the hard drive. It never kept me from seeing photos, except for EdEka's pics in the Apparatus Bay...so I don't know if it's a problem just yet.)

                      5 minutes later:
                      Okay, I think it's fine. On the next topic here at AW bay, I see all the photos.

                      Weird! I scrolled back to the top of this page and now all the photos are visible. Took them longer than expected to appear. Not sure if that's an indicator of something worse....or something else? Maybe the internet is slow because it's so darn cold outside.....

                        No it isn't weird I have noticed some of my posts in the past with missing pictures I just haven't said anything to come back to a different computer to see them.

                            I think your white wagon, like mine sits lop-sided. They seem to be sitting high on the left side. I got the blue car with dogdishes today but didn't check it yet.
