Steiger built the Panther 1400 CP from 1982 till 1985 at their Fargo plant. A whopping 14.6 liter (893 cubic inches) six cylinder Caterpillar diesel produced 400 horsepower. Retail price new was well over $100,000 which was a steep price then. Ballasted weight was almost 18 tons.

And still built in Fargo - drove by the CaseIH plant every time I head north on I-29 to Grand Forks which I no longer have need to do as my son and family moved to Bismarck! Being a North Dakota bred tractor I am rather partial to Steiger's - they were excellent tractors with many of them still in use today as well as the newer red ones! Scale Models did a nice job on this Panther CP-1400.
