    Auto World Muscle Trucks....in the Suburbs...

    Okay, it's more like Suburban Auto World. This is maybe the first non-emergency-vehicle 'complete' release I've collected; and hey, I live in the suburbs....

    This dark red seemed perfectly-suited for a custom rescue truck, ala the 50s-60s era TV series "Rescue 8" (I think their Rescue Squad was a Suburban....panel rather than windows version...thought this would make a perfect base model. I may have to actually take the time to view the clips or entire episodes I see on the internet, to refresh my memory of that rig...)

    In color, that is. Maybe Auto World "should have seen it in color".....heh heh

    Yeah, yeah....too much 'gap' in the hood....ah, well..... (I DO hope they'll do a panel version...in "fire engine red"....someday)

    You know I saw one in a store and it did look really good I just can't get past the corner post but different strokes and different folks. I just purchase a Treasure Hunt with no tail lights lol.
    Due to the recent budget cuts,
    the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, plus the
    current state of the economy, the light at the end
    of the tunnel has been turned off.

        Those are nice. I do keep wondering if we might see an emergency use of this vehicle down the road. Wishful thinking on my part!

          I read a book where the Navajo Tribal Police used a Suburban. That would be a cool emergency Suburban!

          nice models! I see what you mean by the hood gap but, still cool looking pieces.

              I agree it is a nice casting, it would be interesting if we would see this casting later in a panel version

              They look even better in fresh air,..

                These trucks are very nice. The first two were 65's, white the two new releases are 66's. Note the different location of the model number on each year.

                    Laughing out loud I do remember when Air Conditioning was an option now every car has it unless it's something you buy from Ford the King Cobra Mustang Racer, Chevrolet COPD Camaro, and the Ford GT350 Track car.

                      All cars used to have crank windows, then power windows became an option, and you know the rest.

                        "360 air conditioning" or something like that, wasn't it? (I guess referring to having to crank the windows' by hand, and at least all the way round once....)

                          What isn't cool about power windows when they break you can't roll them down.
                          Due to the recent budget cuts,
                          the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, plus the
                          current state of the economy, the light at the end
