  • Matchbox Circus Auxiliary Power Truck Rescue

Here is an interesting piece. It was made for a circus play set from Matchbox. Just in case there is a problem at the circus, they have a Circus heavy rescue to respond😁 I like this variant because you don’t see it often😊

One of the more unusual versions of that casting. It's one I have as well. You do see heavy rescue trucks repurposed as tool carriers for towing companies, equipment service, and the like, quite regularly. I know of one equipment service company here that uses a rather large, 1990s era Freightliner ambulance as a mobile workshop.

One of the smaller local airports I noticed uses a repurposed pumper to either pump fuel or ag chemicals into a crop duster.

One of the variations of this model that I don't have as I didn't want to buy the circus set and have not run across it in sale/trade posts. I wonder if Wes has one of these in his circus collection of models?

I have seen a lot of "handy man" type services use retired ambulances as work trucks.

I like to imagine this model as being like a tiny clown car, it pulls up on scene and thirty Clown Firemen climb out, haha. I don't know if they used a different type of plastic for the top section of this, but it seems like almost every Circus version of this model I've seen has more yellowing of the plastic than the other versions.

On one of my 3 Intercom city color auxiliary power truck rescues, the plastic is also yellow and the two others are white. Is it the color of a different plastic, or is it the white plastic that turns yellow over time?

I'm sure that the plastic yellows over time, especially when displayed near sunlight, but this version just seems to be more susceptible to it. Maybe it's just me.
