  • VOLKSWAGEN ''CLASSIC BUG''

A new Beetle casting has shown up in the Cruise Boulevard series.

    VOLKSWAGEN "CLASSIC BUG":

It is a split-window Bug. The hood is a separate piece but it does not open:

it could just be me.but the engine cover looks too big for the rest of the casting.

Hmm... what's the point in having an ill-fitting engine cover if it doesn't even open? Is this a Vee-Dub cool "thing" I'm just not aware of? Like a, "My swapped-in Porsche engine is so big I can't close my engine cover anymore" kind of cool? Otherwise, it's just odd.

Looks like a custom drag bug than even the stock model they've had since at least the 80s. Fenders are really flared for an otherwise would be stock casting.

Not to sure about this VW casting - is this Cruise Boulevard a new series from Hot Wheels?

              Yes it is.
There are five vehicles in the series.

Good guess on my part then. Thanks. Hot Wheels doesn't do much by chance these days. Always doing the market research.

For sure looks goofy but I guess it's the only way to add extra engine cooling....?

Exactly. Just like how Fiat 500D racers usually race with the engine cover propped open, another thing HW decided to do accurately even if some folks wouldn't get it at first.

And I guess don't drive it like that in the rain......
