  • Vintage Deluxe Metal Series

A few month ago the Vintage Deluxe Metal Series started to show up at the Manor in Switzerland.
To my surprize they are priced at the same price than the Vintage Deluxe Series at the same chain: CHF 5.95.
So out of the six aviable models four did made their way into my collection, each of the bought in an other shop of them.
They are quite nice, and the cool metal box - that I don't now jet what to do with it,..

N°243A Volkswagen Transporter T1 Food Truck (closed it looks a bit strange,..)
It is surprizing, that MJ makes three different castings of the T1 (Bus, Van, Food Truck) , but all are numbered N°243A

Anything Majorette is so hard to find here. The last time I saw them in the US was at Toys R Us before they closed up shop. Those are nice models!

I have seen some Majorettes recently at both Hobby Lobby, Meijer, and a couple things also at Target. They are being distributed in the US by Jada toys. Certainly not a wide variety- but it's a start.

I have seen the few Jada models at Hobby Lobby, but that’s it. I will have to keep an eye out at Target; I didn’t know they were selling them. Thanks for the info!

I took your advice and hit up a Target hoping to see if they had any Majorette. Low and behold, they had recently stocked pegs with Greenlight, Majorette, Johnny Lightning, and Muscle Machines! I haven't seen a Target have this much selection for more than a decade. Unfortunately, I was kind of late, but was very happy to finally score this Porsche 911 S Surf Carrier; I've been wanting one since seeing it in pics. I absolutely love the color combo.

On a side note; I can't believe how expensive Johnny Lightning has become... I remember when they were $2.99...

I had also been noticing in recent months that my area Walmarts has been occasionally stocking the VW Punch Buggy series from Majorette, though I don't think they last on the pegs but a few days when they do put some out.

I'd like to see that VW food truck in a store, but that's unlikely to happen here any more (HL may carry some random models, but I'm boycotting HL for personal reasons). I doubt a store that carries random scattered brands and models with no dedicated 'brand' sections is a reliable source for any collector. Hit or miss, that's the HL story in my experience.

I found the Punch Buggy series at Walmart...and brought home a T2 with surfboard on top, and one of the VW "bugs". Nothing else from the series so far appeals to me, but I do like "surfer themed" models, having grown up on the west coast just a mile from the beach.
