  • Y-7-A (1914 4 Ton Leyland Van) decal question

Attention MOY archeologists! This early Matchbox specimen is a recent obtainment (part of a batch haul). Trying to figure out what this note about the "central line on decal" means.

Posting a question sometimes drives the chemical reaction deeper into the brain.

Could it be that the "central line" is the entire middle row of text (beginning with "By Royal Appointment...")?

I think that is what that means as the other variations say "full text".

That's what made it click for me too. Thanks.

FYI - Just got a reply from Charlie Mack confirming this. He said only 13 or so are documented (without the center line of text).

So, would it be the case that the "center line of text" was removed for 'later' releases when there wasn't a King, but instead the Queen was the ruler?

Good question. Since this van was supposed to represent how the logo looked in 1914, I doubt they would update it because a new sovereign "took office" (what ever the correct term is) in 1953.
