  • Matchbox Ford Police Interceptor & Crown Vic K9 unit

While searching high & low for the new Matchbox Chevy Caprice NYPD cruiser without much luck I did manage to find these.

New for 2020 Ford Police Interceptor. I also have two of the 2018 variation in black with the State Police tampos and disc wheels.

Look forward to adding this one to my collection - liking the colors and the design on this one!

Haven't seen either of those yet, both are nice police additions, and then hoping to get the two other police cars out now too, the NYPD cruiser you mention, and the Boone County Mustang form the 5 pk.

Here's the new police interceptor next to the one from 2018.

Never found that 2018 one either, at least I don't remember it.

I found it back in 2018 and I just recently found another one on a short card.

With this model on top shown from Diecaster62 , which was already inserted above, there is a small change in the side printing:
The golden side stripe below and above is shorter, it has been shortened significantly towards the front and no longer extends to, or does not extend beyond the A-pillar as before.
I cannot say whether the stamped number * M40 * on the base plate is new, because no base plate is set.
I can almost rule out that this is not "just" an error model, because I bought it twice in a blister.
And i like the computer in the passenger seat or is it the lunch box? ☺

gold-colored side stripes significantly shorter towards the front and also ending smoothly

base with stamped *M40* , no tampo (!)

While I got all 3 of mine on long cards (none in a PG box yet, or short cards), the production date on the bottom of mine is M37...so a few weeks earlier than the ones showed above. All mine have the full gold stripe to the front fender flare. Thanks for exposing this variation. I'll be keeping my eyes out for this!

Interesting observations! Mine has "M38" on the base. On the passenger seat is a half dozen box of donuts missing one.

Do taxi drivers eat donuts, too?

Yep it has the same interior as the police cruiser.

I can confirm this variation. Purchased on a long card, Walmart, Orlando, with M38 stamp.

I checked several dozen on OFAS and only found ones with the long stripe extending onto the front fenders.

Interesting... thanks for pointing this out!!
