Let’s see the Tomica that has been the hardest for you to find. I even had to steal the photo....

[QUOTE=Stan769;n68124]I've been looking for the F42. There is one that is pictured and this one.[/QUOTE
This one with blue toplight is also on my want-list ...
But under the top-ten wants are only this two Tomica cars - Nissan Caball with BLUE toplight and POLIZEI decals and also the Ford Crown with blue toplight POLIZEI stickers.

Both models with this BLUE toplights and POLIZEI-decals are special models for the German-speaking countries, probably only Germany.
On the backside from the blistercard for Germany the number and name for the Toyota Crown and Nissan Caball is
02-04 Toyota Polizeiauto
and
26-67 Datsun Polizei-Bus
Unfortunately I don't have the models, so I don't know which number stands for these models. Also, I don't understand the Tomica model number system anyway. In my list, I only use the numbers on the base plate. Often, however, the numbers under which the cars are actually listed are not, but that's an endless story.
Here are some photos (where I only took pictures since I don't have the cars), how the models were sold in Germany, the cars belonged to the so-called Pocket Cars Series:

Those are AWESOME, Ernst! I loved all my Tomica fire vehicles and ambulances, and I bought lots of civilian trucks and cars too, and of course whatever Police cars I could find. Nothing so sweet as your collection, however. It was really GREAT when I could buy Tomica Pocket Cars at the store, and even at Kmart in later years (or was it KB...or both?). I remember Tomica box displays in stores too, and I'm sure I bought boxed mainline models in stores in my youth.
I'd guess, when I think about what I tried hardest to get, it usually applies to 'sets' or a complete variation collection when there were limited numbers of varies of those models. As an example, here are three of I think 6 variations I have acquired of this early favorite of mine (the red San Diego FD original...I came from SD) and bought this one in the local toy shop. Never saw the other colors until the past few years thanks to Swifty's and the old MCCH.
Oh, and of course, thanks to ebay. I guess I didn't find my first Tomica until I was in my 20s, and I think it was the Isuzu Pump Fire Engine (no. 68).Last edited by b2young; 02-21-2020, 08:08 PM.
