That is a nice looking US Mail Jeep Cherokee - curious if that is a custom someone has made or a stock model from Majorette?

Yeah, I'm really curious if it is a custom or not too. Odd for a french company to make a US Postal Police unit, but maybe it was a custom for the Postal Police?? So I lied, I broke down and bought it. I've never seen another one like it so I had to have it... I'll have to beg forgiveness to my wife haha. No, I'm kidding, she's actually thrilled I'm back into collecting it gives me something to do other than sit around.

I do wish I could find a good index for Majorette. I've found many for HW and MB, but not for them. I lived overseas growing up and more often than not my dad would bring home a Majorette for me when he felt like surprising me. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for them.

It may very well be. I've seen a number of Majorette Cherokees show up though, I have 11 so far, and have seen a few others I don't have yet, with variations of color, base, tampo and surfboard color. There's also a Hello Kitty model that I've seen with and without surfboards. Online results are thin at best. A good example is the Digimon one, which I didn't know existed until I saw it on OFAS. I may have to start an index of the ones I've seen and have :-)

Custom or not, a fantastic and unique piece either way. Please do post some close up photos when you receive it!

Sorry for the delay, I've been meaning to get around to sharing the photos. So the model is pretty nice, but it's definitely a custom, not made this way from Majorette. It appears to have been an all white Sheriff model, which do exist from Majorette with Bill Bozo decals and some custom paint applied. The decals are an older set they don't seem to sell anymore, but I found a pic of them on a different vendor. The customizer did a decent job on the taillights, a mediocre job on the lights and a poor job on the base. The base was originally grey, and in my opinion could have stayed that way. It's definitely a brush job on the base.

That being said they did do a great job on the decals. They're well aligned, follow the vehicle design well and are quite convincing. Without further ado, here are some close ups.





Here's a photo from a vendor of the decals used, which I think are probably the best done part of the job. The paint is a 7/10 but I'd give the decals a 10/10. I would have loved to see a hood logo, or a roof logo, but hey, still cool.

Thanks for posting the close ups. It's hard for a custom to be exactly perfect but still looks to be well done. Even though not original it's still a unique piece in any collection.
