  • Favorite Card Art.....What's Yours.....?

Sometimes I buy a die cast for the card art over the car. Sometimes you get both.

This one is my favorite card art to date. Bonus it has a neat car as well.

Feel free to add your favorite card art here, I'd love to see them.....

I don't have any pics handy, but my favorites off the top of my head were always the collector cards Johnny Lightning included with the Zingers models. I've grown very fond of the artistry of Jairus Watson. He used to drop by the old JLTalk and chat with us from time to time, and I have a piece autographed by him.

Next behind those would be the art cards for the early Muscle Machines and the artistry of Rohan Day. Never got to chat with him and don't have any autographs, but I would jump at the chance for either one.
The image file limits have been reset. Upper limits now are 100,000 when we have some images that exceed 5,000,000. I've set the pixels for no more than 1000 across the longest side, so if you resize to that all should be well. (The limits are larger than what I typically use, and my images turn out just fine, so I know it shouldn't be a problem)

    Thank you for your understanding.

Even as one who tends to turn everything loose, there are those occasional items that have a card that needs to be kept as part of the story of the model being in my collection.

As an emergency vehicle collector and having many ties to the police/fire/EMS folks these first two have a special place in my collection with the card telling the story. The first one is a memorial car for a fallen officer.

Probably not surprising to some who know me, my first career choice was law enforcement. Had made application to programs in Spokane and Tulsa. This next car from Tulsa PD simply reminds me of another time and place in my life when doors were closed (no regrets) but ironic that this nifty little Tulsa cruiser was a limited issue that found its way into my collection.

The next one was a souvenir from a special day spent with my son-in-law touring a John Deere plant in Iowa. When our daughter brought him home to meet her parents, he and I hit it off immediately when he saw my farm scene diorama and got to go to a toy show with me! We had a great father-son afternoon looking at how John Deere tractors are made...and yes, I consider him a son!

This one is home made but very special. Bob and Sharon ran a diecast store (and locksmith shop) in downtown Mandan, ND. We got to become great freinds. I got to celebrate their wedding...as well as Sharon's funeral.

Interesting thread, I like hearing the stories of why things are favorites.

For me it is kind of a general liking for all the art with diecast toys, I guess it started when I began collecting and found old Matchbox models I wanted still in original boxes, and delighted by the renderings on them of the included models, so I'm not sure I could pick a favorite, either of box or card art, not without some deep thought and searching through the whole collection.

Me too...... and I have a few R&T sets in storage. Most are 1/32 scale cars.

I have a couple more to share, I'll get some pics.

This is one of my favorites. Great card art and over the top car decorations. They made a Spiderman car also but I've never seen it carded. This is also the only one of this car I've ever seen carded.
