  • Corgi Jr. Choo Choo Train

Not sure anymore if I found these all at once, or pieces over time. And I have no idea if they did anymore?

A little on the whimsical side, but still pretty neat.

I'm kinda wondering--how come no one really does static diecast trains anymore? Maisto had an absolutely brilliant, and finely detailed line.

I believe this is all of them - part of a "wild west series" that also had a stage coach and river boat. I think the train was sold as separate pieces but also might have been part of a set.

I like that word whimsical for them Cody, they're probably not too true in any scale, and their bright colors were really meant to attract children, just for a bit of fun I guess.

Matchbox had some basic range trains in the 70's, still not scaled to real specs too well, but the colors weren't so bright.

I do kind of remember those Maisto trains, never added any, but they did seem really accurate looking, but maybe they didn't sell well, so they dropped them.

Thanks for the info John, I do think I might have seen the engine in a single blister online before, but that is all that comes to mind.

I don't remember any trains by Corgi. These are really outstanding pieces.
