    Malibu International / Reel Rides '77 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am "Bandit"

    So many of the Malibu International Reel Rides models are verified as High Speed, so I presume this model is as well, though I have not seen anything to verify that presumption.

    This was the "it" car when I was in High School, helped along in no small part by the famous movie "Smokey and the Bandit." Hmmm, that gives me an idea for a movie to watch this weekend!

    Camaros are OK, but from year one I always thought the Firebirds were classy and tastefully done. I would take a Firebird any day over a same year Camaro.

    This particular issue is perhaps a little oversize, maybe 1/60 or so, but I think for the day and time about 20 years ago it is a well done model. It is the only Firebird anywhere close to 1/64 that I am aware of with the Poncho specific starburst wheels, that alone was the selling point for me!
    The image file limits have been reset. Upper limits now are 100,000 when we have some images that exceed 5,000,000. I've set the pixels for no more than 1000 across the longest side, so if you resize to that all should be well. (The limits are larger than what I typically use, and my images turn out just fine, so I know it shouldn't be a problem)

    That is cool and yes ah Smokey and the bandit never saw the second one but loved the first

      There's a third movie as well, but they used the pointy nose "Knight Rider" 80s Firebird for that movie, and no Burt Reynolds (so a Bandit movie with no Bandit....still a fun movie, but not like the first!)

        It is only to be called Smokey and the bandit if Burt Reynolds is in it

          One of the funny scenes was Jerry Reed running around singing "I get to be the Bandit, I get to be the Bandit!"

            I remember when this came out. As I remember there was something off about the car that I didn't find appealing. It wasn't the size either. It had something to do with the back taillights and the front fascia that didn't seem right to me. Your right about the snowflakes rims. The only one at that time had those rims were Racing Champions but they were not as defined as the Malibu International ones. The 3rd movie was terrible compared to the others.
