With a couple of the gold ones there is a lot of great choices in this batch.

They say they are Target exclusives, however I did find the last gold ones at WM as well, maybe cases occasionally get mixed up as to where they are suppose to go, unless somebody just returned them to WMs the time I'd found them there.

As I have commented, the Targets I have been to have been void of Matchbox, outside of a few five packs. No singles which is not overly surprising. I am thankful that a couple of fellow collectors have found the gold Hudson and Seagrave for me.

I broke down and bought a Seagrave on ebay....for less than I had probably spent driving around looking for it. The Hudson was in stock at both local Targets, but never the Seagrave or the BMW.

I found the first three all at one Target, but with no emergency vehicle in that group, I was sad to note I couldn't find the remaining three at retail, except for the Hudson. Oh, well. I didn't pay too much over retail (I paid $6 with shipping) for the Seagrave, and I'm happy to have one.

I found one here in no-Target-Canada at a local Wal-Mart for a dollar:

I too found this release at Walmart - I was originally thinking that it could've been a one-off error that this Target case was shipped to a Walmart, but this doesn't look to be the case. Not that I'm complaining, since this was something I never thought I would find.

I visit frequently Target and Walmart stores in my area and I only found the golden exclusives at Target but never in Walmart yet. Funny but true.

I really like this Seagrave in gold! It looks as good as the red ones....but then, I think Matchbox really 'hit it out of the park' with this casting and the Mack B and C models. Can't wait to see what other apparatus will come down the line.

Oh, and after buying on ebay, of course then I find one at Target. Then another. So a lucky friend is getting one for Christmas.

Brought this thread back up as a heads up, because my friend just told me he was finding the gold cars at Dollar Tree, not this batch though, the first release of gold ones.

Did my package get lost in the mail, Blair?

I've been to a couple local DT and have also found this to be true. The Gold 50th cars I've been seeing are the BMW, Mercedes and Camaro. Lots of them! What happened to them being Target Exclusives?

My guess they were Target exclusives but with Target's sporadic stocking there were probably many cases left over by the time the next wave came out. Rather than Target getting stuck with old stock they were off loaded to Dollar Tree.

The signs are pointing to Target. Note to self: visit Target.
