      Congratulations!!
Due to the recent budget cuts,
the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, plus the
current state of the economy, the light at the end
of the tunnel has been turned off.

Just heard from Oshkosh that he has found one for me and sending it my way! Which is good because the Target stores I have been to are void of Matchbox.

              Great score!

You know, if they'd gold VUM-plated the base, it would look even better.

Wish my Targets yielded the same for me. But at least I got mine for not too outrageous a price...on ebay.

My gold Seagrave has arrived as has the Hudson. I agree, though, that it would have been nice if they had put the chrome base on the Seagrave like they did the Hudson.

And Saturday I went on a 'road trip hunt' to Oregon, but knew I should take a short diversion at the start, to visit a Target I usually stop in on Sunday, and it turns out that was the best stop of the 180-mile round trip*. I found one gold Seagrave hanging on the pegs at that Target. The other Target on the drive had some of the latest (R) case so I bought a couple for extras, but no gold 50th Anniv. series at all. But at least I found one in a store I wouldn't have NORMALLY visited on a trip to Oregon and the other walmarts and the one Target between here and there...so I credit a 'little birdie' from above (Mom always loved my collecting hobby) with telling me I MUST divert to that specific store that's about 5 miles out of my way...

[*(I diverted to a nice state park in Oregon that's about 30 miles from the border since it was a nice fall day, adding 60 miles over the 120 just to the border and back)]
