  • 1976 Chevy Monza 2+2 IMSA GT/Allan Moffat

Easily my favorite release from the Car Culture Silhouettes range. This is, for a roughly $6 purchase cost (when I got it over the summer at Target) is a very nice representation of one of Detroit's great underdog sport coupes in its ultimate form, I just had to repaint the taillight detail and it was good enough.

This casting is a semi-replica of the 1975 Allan Moffat Racing IMSA DeKon Engineering car that rustled many jimmies, set new records and stirred up controversy over the 1975-79 Australian auto racing seasons and raised the ire of both Ford and Holden. Some artistic liberty was taken with the design, but I couldn't resist it then or now.

I think LouisCyphre would enjoy this one.

It's been on my radar for quite a while. Shame they did not use the actual livery though.

I grabbed this one. I plan on detailing mine, but some of the work will need to wait until spring.

I was pretty excited to see that in the HW lineup, so there was no chance in hell I'd have forgotten about it.

Hoping that Hot Wheels releases a premium version of this one. I'd love also to see a stock version of the Monza Mirage produced as well.
