    Dodge/Coke Box Set

    I stopped by Wally World on my way to the appointment for a second COVID-19 shot Wednesday morning.

    Slim pickins, as usual, but this set caught my eye. M2 gets a very small percentage of my diecast budget, but the A100 reminded me of the van my dad drove for work when I was a wee lad. I’ve always liked the ‘66 Charger, too, so I bit the bullet and made the purchase.

    Oh, and after about two days of low-grade fever and aches (which I expected and prepared for) I feel close to normal. The first shot had no real effect on me, but I needed time off to recover from the second shot. Drink lots of fluids (with electrolytes) and get lots of rest.

    My second shot had no effect on me and im 16 so maybe it is because im younger it had no effect and Nice Set! Question!!! How much was the set?

      It was more than I would have normally spent. About $20. I really wanted a dark-colored A100, though, and this fit the bill. As for whether the set is -worth- $20? Your mileage may vary.

        Nice set - when I got my COVID shot it was at a pharmacy that had some Hot Wheels and I came home with a couple of those - made me think of kid days when I got a shot and mom would usually buy me a Matchbox car.

          I don't buy anything with Coke on it and I did not get any shots. I'm 73.

            Sooo im 52 and i like it very much .......Most the Dodge A100 Dragsters are not my thing.

              I like the set and getting my second shot this month and I'm sixty and I don't want to expire just yet. Furthermore, I might travel, and not getting the vaccine can deter that. Does anyone know if you need a passport to go to Alaska? I don't know if you stop in Canada first or not?

                I would expect that you do not need a passport to travel to Alaska, it is one of your states. And if you have a stop in Canada on the and stay in the International part of teh airport, you will not need a passport, Now if you have a layover of a day and leave the airport, a passport is necessary, and right now it looks like you may need proof of COVID vacination to get into Canada also. Air carriers are starting to look like they may start needing proof of vaccine to let you fly anyway.

                Nice Dodge set! I have always liked that generation of Charger. Trailer looks a little big for that A100 to haul, but hey maybe there is a big Chryco engine in that little A100 box. I would like to see M2 put together a package of Chevy's like that

                  I thought the same about the towing capacity. No way that little van can tow the trailer, especially with the A100 being a smaller scale than the Charger. From what I remember of my Dad's A100 it was not very powerful. Just a Slant 6. Later he traded up to a V8-powered B-series Tradesman Maxivan. That could have easily towed the Trailer.

                    Some photos to follow up on my last post. This Johnny Lightning van is not a "MaxiVan" (with an extended section tacked on to the rear) but it is yellow, like the one we had.

                    Unlike the A100, this van definitely looks big enough to tow this trailer.

                    Funny thing is, the A100 Slant Six was bulletproof, while the (then) new-fangled Chrysler Electronic Ignition System on the B-series van was not well sorted out. It would fry out, which might lead to a towing scene like this.

                      Back when I was an Alaskan, no ID other than state-issued Driver's License was needed to enter Canada, if you were from the USA north or south. I suspect one would need to show proof of vaccination to enter Canada from the US these days. Funny how so many people don't want a "Covid ID passport" of some sort to be required but more agencies are advising folks who have had their shots to carry the card issued to you when you get your shots, anywhere you go. Its pretty simple to do if you carry a wallet.
