  • Custom Review of Stangfreak

In the old garage I had a thread of the customs I have done over the years that I referenced many times. Here is another one I would like to start and also for ideas for any new members. I made and cast many of the pieces used, and molded pieces from other castings to modify some of these beauties. It sure created an enormous amount of fun and creativity from this hobby. Here's an early HW casting of the 56 pickup which is now a Cobra pickup.

A Welly resto job here. It had no chassis at all.I used and cut down a chassis from a HW Monte Carlo casting to fit. Added some M2 wheels and aluminum tube exhaust to complete this one...

This Johnny Lightning 55 Ford Gasser started out as a Coke4 Christmas car. I tried removing the Coke and Santa tampos and goofed it up pretty good. So, I gave it one of my resin cast engines and a primer paint job, along with a set of Greenlight wheels and ended up with a 55 Ford Gasser. Hot Wheels released their primer gray 55 Chevy Gasser a short time later.

I've always been a movie buff, in other words, "A COUCH POTATO", especially if they had some hot looking rides in them. I tried my hand at creating a few that the diecast manufacturers didn't release. This 70 Mustang Boss 429 is a custom from the movie Born to Run from 1993 starring Richard Greco.

This one required much more cutting and filing that I ever thought it would... But I "GOT~ER~DONE"

Great stuff! I'm really liking that LX Convertible and the Poison Pinto.

The Poison Pinto was especially attractive!
