  • Found the Real Deal!

I know I have told most of you about the 63 and 64 Galaxies my Dad, Grandpa, Uncles, Great Aunts and Uncles, and a cousin or two, owned back in the day. My family was dedicated Ford people... LOL... I never could find old pics of any of them that were good enough to reprint or retake until I found this one of my Grandpa's. I made this one and still have it in 1/64th scale. I removed the Coke tampos...LOL

I have always like the idea of having little cars that replicate the big ones that me or my family, or even friends owned. It kinda keeps memories alive. Here's a few more cars that Johnny did close to some that I owned in the past...

My Great Aunt "Oni" had a white 63 Galaxie like this Johnny. It had some red racing tampos that I carefully removed to get this model of hers. I really messed the first one up good, that I tried removing them bright red numbers and names from it...

Then there was my Uncle Bob's 63 Galaxie almost exactly like this one that had the 427 dual 4bbl 4 speed in it. That one was loud and wicked. I changed this Johnny around a bit to get it like his was...

It's nice to have little replicas of all the cars that have entered and left your 1:1 scale life.

Yes it is... I have even invested bigger money in building 1/24th scale plastic kits. By the time you buy the glue and all the paint you need, you can easily have dropped 50 to 75 dollars...LOL
I had this 66 Mustang back in the early to mid 70s and was very proud of it.

I made this 1/64th model from a Welly casting, but later decided I wanted one with more detail because it was one of the first cars I ever built up to go quick and fast. I bought the model from a hobby shop for $28.79, 3 colors of Testors spray paint, two kinds of model glue and several little jars of misc. colors of paint for fine detail, also a few different size small paint brushes. When my wife found the receipt from the hobby shop, I thought World War Three had begun. I had a little over 62 dollars invested...LOL

Here's the 1/24th model I built with the cross ram dual 4bbl carbs I was so proud of on the 1:1...

I almost wound up in divorce court when I spent another 15 dollars on the display case a week later...LOL

That was an awesome Stang you had Steve. The pictures rock!!!!
Due to the recent budget cuts,
the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, plus the
current state of the economy, the light at the end
of the tunnel has been turned off.

Love the pics Stangfreak! I am in the same situation, though we were a GM family. Lots of car memories, but curiously, few decent pictures. I guess my family didn't consider their cars part of the family as I would! The cars were usually partially seen in the background. I continue to search for photographic evidence of certain cars in the family!

                    Sweet stuff Steve!!!

I was thrilled when Fresh Cherries made my 78 Mustang II in scale and the right color.
