  • Mercedes Zetros Feuerwehr

Here we have a Mercedes Zetros in "Feuerwehr" livery from Majorette's "Austrian S.O.S." assortment.

The black turret on top can be turned 360 degrees.

I did some measuring and the truck seems to be exactly 1/87 scale in width, it just could've been a tad longer, but I guess it wouldn't fit into a 3 inch blister then. Definitely a beautiful model and well worth the money (2,99€ or $ 3,50 - tax included).

The cab is metal, the box thing in the back is plastic and the base is plastic as well.

This is a nicely done Austrian fire truck from Majorette. Great play feature with the water turret that rotates!

Nice looking fire engine, roughly 1/87 like you say, is a good scale for trucks, seems old Matchbox and maybe Majorette trucks were around that scale so many years ago.

I remember picking up a five-pack mostly for this model (probably in a different livery). The casting is well done and I really like how they've changed the rear to add it in their other lines.

Agreed, a very versatile casting - definitely going to pick up the dumper and the logging truck when I find it.

The first photo I saw of a Zetros fire engine, it was the 1:1 of this model, photographed or photoshopped working on a "wildland fire"...and those who know me know that would suck me in. Here's one of several variations already in the wild of this cool all-terrain vehicle (it's not noted on the packaging or advertising, but it is specifically designed for "all-terrain" operations.)

At the time, this version was only available in a two-pack. Here's that first look I had:

It also came in a THW (Technics Hilfswerk--sorry for my poor language skills) blue livery in a Majorette "THW" 4-pack:

Early adopters noted that THW does not "do" firefighting, and a "fire engine" is a fantasy member of a THW squad. THW is essentially the salvage and recovery service for major incidents.

The "fire" variation is present in many country-specific liveries now, too. Here's the generic "english" model:

Other brands have given some love to Zetros, too, like Herpa (HO scale model railroad accessories):

I loves me some 'heavy-duty fire engines'....and the Zetros series aims to please...

You're pretty close - THW stands for "Technisches Hilfswerk".

The Herpa casting is pretty sweet. Already had the one with the yellow stripes (the one on the right in your last photo, called "Ziegler Design") in my digital cart but got something else instead.
