  • JL castings that should be redone

Put the old JL castings that you want to be done with their new formula they’re doing here.

    - Boat tail Riviera
    - 1981 Chevy Malibu
    - 1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass
    - 1972 Vega Panel wagon
    - 1980s Buick Regal
    - 1975 Ford Econoline

Additionally, they could do a 1984 Lincoln Town Car. Yes, it’s not an existing Johnny Lightning car, but just a personal preference.

AMC Gremlin. Too darn big. Should scale up with the almost perfect scale '70 Hornet. Similarly, the AMX is too big, whereas the first-gen Javelin is decent.

Dodge D100/Warlock/Li'l Red Express: Ancient history and the Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Favorites casting solidly trounces it

SC/Rambler: OK casting as it is, even with its age, but it could really use a Rambler American version and non-solid vent wings.

AMC Rebel Machine: Dated casting and should be able to also produce a regular Rebel with a different hood

    1973-74 GTO/Grand Am/LeMans: Wonky proportions

    1961 Pontiac Catalina/Ventura: Too small

    1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass: Too small

1975 Buick Century Free Spirit, 1978 Oldsmobile Delta 88 and 1973 Oldsmobile Cutlass Indy Pace Cars: Terrible castings, that would make better subjects for the Auto World range as regular coupes IMHO

Dodge A100 and Studebaker Champ pickups: Dated

Lincoln MkIII and Premiere, 1950 Mercury woodie, 1965 Pontiac 2+2, 1957 Chevy National Coach funeral/ambulance service car, 1966 and 1959 Cadillac hearses/ambulances, 70s Aston Martin V8, '57 Chevy Viking school bus: Too small

I think the Vegas should be lowered to the right stance. Some of the newer ones look like gassers, they set so high...
      Here's a few older releases...

A newer release... What happen here?

The drag strip Vegas looked ok setting higher up, but not the stock daily drivers...

          • The GMT400 Tahoe, as there is definitely a popularity for Chevrolet pickups as of late and there aren't many older Tahoes, would make sense to do this one.
          • The GMT800 Silverado, maybe even do the GMC Sierra instead. Maybe do both extended cab and single cab short bed variants for variety.
          • The Jeep Wagoneer is a no brainier considering how desirable the real vehicle is, expecally the late model years.
          • The 1965 Pontiac Catalina 2+2 due to its small size. This could also be a good Auto World casting.
          • 1993 F150, this is a popular subject matter and the current casting is too small. would be a nice paring to the squarebody or a potential GMT400 or GMT800 pickup.

            55-57 Ford Thunderbird
            49 Mercury and 51 Mercury
            1969 Ford Talledega
            1966 Ford Fairlane
            1961 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL
Due to the recent budget cuts,
the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, plus the
current state of the economy, the light at the end
of the tunnel has been turned off.

I never really saw the problem; but two I recently picked up were bad.

1969 Lincoln Continental. Thers is no way this casting can be 1/64. Probably closer to 1/72.

1992 Cadlllac Allante. Really crude, ugly casting. It's an early JL that needs a total rework.

                - 1981 Chevy Malibu

                - 1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass

                - 1972 Vega Panel wagon... Only Vega Wagon I ever found...

                - 1980s Buick Regal

                - 1975 Ford Econoline

And I'll throw in the "ALL MIGHTY 71 DODGE DEMON 340"

Did you know JL only released one version of a 1966 Fairlane Daniel? It was the Holiday series Fairlane.

All of these following were 1967s...

In some series these two 4-door Fairlanes were advertised as 1966s, but were also 1967s... You can tell from the grills and the tail lights.

I had all of these at one time but sold them because of the tire size.

I think that the Gremlin is around 1/61ish though I wouldn't mind a more finely detailed and properly scaled retooling.

I would love to see the Aspen re-done as a totally stock casting.

This old Skyline casting should be put out to the pastures already, it's showing it's age. While we are at it a bone stock 240SX would be stellar

Is the 1967-68 Thunderbird big enough?
