  • New to Diecast Garage

Howdy All. This morning I stumbled across Swifty’s and was told the move was made to this website so I didn’t register there but decided to start on this site. Not sure how often I’ll be in and out of the forums here as I seem to do things in cycles and I’ve got several hobby interests and will binge on one or two for awhile and then slowly rekindle interest in another and fade from some and reappear in another hobby for a while. Though many of my diecast models are from the last several years I still have the ones I had as a youngster. Wisdom has told me I should not have repainted some with model paint those many years ago but oh well. I’ve several thousand carded cars and almost as many opened and in carry or display cases. I suspect I am willing to do some swapping, trading and even some straight up buying and selling too going forward from this post. Name is Gene and PDX is where I’m at. Also Rockhounding and PCP Airgun target shooting are where I spend most free time I scrape together.

    Welcome Gene!!
It sounds like you will fit right in here. It is a great place to hang out. I have been collecting for almost 30 years & this place still teaches me quite a bit. Kevin

Welcome aboard, Gene! Good to see you found us after the move from Swifty's, its mostly the same gang here and a few new folks as well.

I look forward to seeing your collection!
The image file limits have been reset. Upper limits now are 100,000 when we have some images that exceed 5,000,000. I've set the pixels for no more than 1000 across the longest side, so if you resize to that all should be well. (The limits are larger than what I typically use, and my images turn out just fine, so I know it shouldn't be a problem)

        Thank you for your understanding.

Hi Gene, (..not meaning to be funny, I guess you've heard that a thousand times before). Anyway, you are very Welcome to the site. Like you I rotated alot with my hobbies when I was younger (Toy cars, Trump Cards, dungeons & dragons (figures & games), comics, music 45s / lp's, horror/sci-fi/action/thriller vhs videos .. now dvds.! ) ..there are more.! ... but that lot was too many to continue with,. I've tried to settle down with just toy cars & dvds now. (Although it's been hard & still is ..trying to let the other stuff go.!) . Hope you can stay around so we can see your collection.

How do you like living at the Portland International Airport (PDX)? 😏 ✈
                    I am watching you.

Diecast is an addiction and here is where all the fun is. Welcome you are among friends.
Due to the recent budget cuts,
the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, plus the
