  • New Black Turnpike Cruiser

I haven't bought any M2 products for almost two years now due to the quality and issues I had with them back then, and also began selling off the ones I did have, I quit buying the ones with opening doors and hoods, but continued buying the Drivers series for awhile. Issues began adding up with them also. I came across this 59 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser on a hunt and inspected it quite closely in the box. I also shook the crap out of it for any loose parts. I looked at it closely and the doors have no huge gaps in them either, the wheels look straight and clean, the paint looks flawless, and everything intact and straight. So, I dropped $5.99 and bought it. I haven't been involved with any M2 cars for a long, long time and I hope this is a sign that some heads have rolled in their quality control department... This is a very nice M2 car!!!

Sharp looking Mercury - like so many of the "higher end" models as I call them - M2, GreenLight, Auto World, etc. they rarely show up in any stores in my area so those I want I end up having to buy from an online dealer and don't get to look them over.

That one just showed up in a Walmart out here. (yes, of course I bought it!)

I just decided to open it up and set it free. I have to say it looks like M2 has improved in the quality department...

Sorry for the blurry pics. This piece of S**T camera has a mind of it's own. To be honest all this new stuff, smart TV, new computer, new printer, even my cell phone is pure "JUNK" in my book. Always changing and cheezy feeling. Give me the good stuf from the 70s and 80s any day!!!

This might be the only 57 Merc that I did not buy. I have too many. Sadly, M2 has never made one of these on which the headlamp pods don't droop' They should be thinner and level.

The way the doors looked jammed in the door frame bothers me this one looks good in your first picture.
Due to the recent budget cuts,
the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, plus the
current state of the economy, the light at the end
of the tunnel has been turned off.

Yeah, I kinda felt the same Daniel, but from what I have experienced over the years from M2 I have to give this one a 98.75% improvement...LOL
