  • Well Stocked Shelves

Ran across some well stocked shelves today at a Meijer store... GLs, AWs, JLs, M2s, MBs, and more!!!

And well-stocked they are! They have more diecast space alloted than Hobby Lobby, and almost as much as Walmart. Walmart is hit or miss, with Christmas coming, it should stay pretty decent through Black Friday, and then that's when nothing shows until March; and the pegs are very barren. Hobby Lobby is now no longer carrying AW, in favor of kid's toys. And without the coupon, it ain't worth going. I will be going on Friday anyway; with my birthday coming up this week and I'll be at the mall anyway, as it's where K&W Cafeteria is located.

Meijer seems to be the place for diecast, from what I've heard. Having a place where one can find stocks of Greenlight, Hot Wheels, Matchbox and Johnny Lightnings is a dream!
Like Cody, I am hoping that the Christmas rush brings in a lot more stock.

Wish we had a Meijer here in Iowa. I see that JL red with white top Lincoln Mark III I am looking for.

Same here. I'd be blowing more than the typical $20 I spend at DG/WM/HL on a diecast run. I'm glad they and Menard's (due to their train stuff) don't have locations in my part of VA/WV. Nearest Menard's--Ohio. Nearest Meijer--central Kentucky.

Meijers has supplanted what TRU use to be back in the day in terms of selection and variety of diecast. My local Meijers 25 miles east of me in Terre Haute also has a large section for HWS and Matchbox. Everything more or less gets restocked in a timely fashion too.

Meijer's is my gold mine for sure. I leave IN Sundays around noon heading to northwest PA. The Ontario (Mansfield), OH, store is conveniently right off US 30 and easy to pull a semi into. I've spent plenty there, esp. on Greenlights.

I hope they expand somewhat (at least into my neck of the woods!!!). I remember shopping at Meijers many times when visiting relatives in Michigan and Indiana, and the quality and selection of everything, not just diecast, was fantastic. The place put Walmart to shame.

So where do I write to get Meijer to expand out to the east? I visited two of their stores in Indiana last spring and just loved the selection! In my judgement it was even better than TRU used to be, and W-A-Y better than Walmart ever was, let alone the meager selection they have nowadays. Yesterday at my local WalMart, there were about 8 pegs of Hot Wheels, 6 TOTAL Matchboxes (including 5 of the same fantasy forklift casting), 4 TOTAL JL's, NO AW's, and about 2 dozen M-2's, primarily the overpriced Coca-Cola cars and the Japanese Mooneyes cars that I have absolutely no interest in.

                    Meijer, PLEASE move east!!!
