The image file limits have been reset. Upper limits now are 100,000 when we have some images that exceed 5,000,000. I've set the pixels for no more than 1000 across the longest side, so if you resize to that all should be well. (The limits are larger than what I typically use, and my images turn out just fine, so I know it shouldn't be a problem)

    Thank you for your understanding.

Nice old Moko toy Wes. Kind of remember seeing one of these at a big toy show early on in my collecting, but even back then it was a bit of an expense, and with being a new collector I was careful about spending on things I wasn't familiar with, but probably missed a good opportunity.

Awesome piece Wes! This one, like the Coronation Coach, I always dreamed of adding to my collection but always out of my price range in those days and now probably just need to behave.

I knew it was unusual, but I've got about $15 into it. The only other one I've seen has the head broken off the front rider and one horse is missing a leg, and the seller wanted like $50 and shipping...but that's the same story across the hobby. I figured it was well worth what I gave for it, but I don't expect anyone else will ever want it...horse drawn vehicles don't get much interest. I picked it up for the historic value, it's a piece of Matchbox history.

The model with the barrels is the harder to find variation. There's also a later version that does not include the red barrels on the sides. The casting had to be modified to close up the slots on either side to mount the barrels.

As for who buys them, I recently sold one at the Gathering in Albuquerque to a gentleman from South America. Of course, I had to explain to him just what a covered wagon was before he bought it.

you'd think with the history of the Oregon, Mormon & California Trails & the Pony Express going thru the area I'd find one of these

I have looked into getting the pre-Matchbox Lesney products, but really haven't looked into them that much. Horses, American History, and pre-Matchbox goes in well with this one. And seeing as how popular Westerns were in the '50s, good timing on their part.

Judging by the horses, is it considerably smaller than 1:64?

If I recall most of these items tend to predate Lesney/Matchbox presence in the overall US retail market which is why they tend to be much harder to find as well as at higher prices.

If one cannot afford to purchase these rare models or even find a sample of one for that matter, at least the models can be enjoyed through the excellent pics posted here. Thanks for this!
