Due to the recent budget cuts,
the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, plus the
current state of the economy, the light at the end
of the tunnel has been turned off.

I have always liked the looks of the '59 Impala!

That is not an Impala. Impalas are hardtops, note the "B" pillar. I think this is the casting that originally HW's made (BelAir), then it later was reissued without that pillar and declared an Impala.

James in Canada, you have this one? I don't.

First it was the Impala then changed to Bel Air

Well, it is one awesome looking Chevy that's for sure.

the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, plus the
current state of the economy, the light at the end

That slipped right by me, I have this casting and it is even listed as an Impala, while the Redphin is a Belair

Thank you for pointing out the difference between the Impala and Bel-Air.

Definitely slipped by me. I've never noticed that one has fender skirts and the other doesnt.

I always like the looks of the 59. I have seen a few at the drag strips that look sweeter or just as good than any 55, 57, or 58.
I would like to see someone other than HW or MB do a nice proportioned and detailed one...
