62 Impala **** Disappointment?

    62 Impala **** Disappointment?

    I picked up this AW 62 Impala a short while back and was impressed looking at in the store...
    Actually the first of any diecast I bought in a good while.





    A little disappointed for lack of color and detail under the hood...



    I got to inspecting it closer...




    I figured I could pop the engine out and paint it up and stick it back in. OK that's cool, but when I sat it down, it didn't set level. It's a bit whapper~jawed inside and that will take drilling it apart to fix. Am I being too picky guys???

    No your not. Frankly, I don't like the headlamps. I think the 62 Impala from Johnny Lighting looks better.
    Due to the recent budget cuts,
    the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, plus the
    current state of the economy, the light at the end
    of the tunnel has been turned off.

      That's a hard one Freak, any Chevy that comes home is cause for celebration, but not fond of a new whapper~jawed car. it is OK if it is years old or more, but not fresh out of the bubble.

        This is one of the very few disappointing castings from Auto World. The headlamps/grill/bumper configuration looks completely different.

        I think its fine for us to be picky, I myself expect a higher standard from this brand, they are capable of creating amazing castings like 67 Eldorado, so why not others too.
